Royal Edinburgh Pass

We have just had some German visitors who thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Edinburgh.  During their time here they made great use of the “Royal Edinburgh Pass” which gives customers the chance to visit 3 of Edinburgh’s most iconic sights; Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace and The Royal Yacht Britannia, as well as having 48 hours on the wonderful Edinburgh Open Top Bus Tour, a must do when in the city.

With the city getting in full swing for the Christmas celebrations, Edinburgh is a beautiful place to be over the holiday season.  The Christmas Markets and ice rinks will be open at the end of November and are a great place to get in the Festive cheer! With so much to see and do for everyone it is one for the bucket list!

Forth Road Bridge 50th Celebrations

This weekend there will round off the celebrations marking 50 years since the Forth Road Bridge opened. In 1964 the bridge opened up the city of Edinburgh to the Kingdom of Fife. However, more importantly, it made the north of Scotland much more accessible for the rest of the UK.

The marvel of the engineering, is still gawped at by all that travel along it’s 1.6 mile stretch, was the 4th largest Suspension bridge at the time of completion. It is by far the toughest bridge of the 4 having to deal with the harsh Scottish winters and gale force winds!

Saturday the 13th will see Big Country performing and a fire river flowing across the span of the bridge, culminating in a street party in South Queensferry.
